Liverpool John Lennon Airport has recently announced an increase to their express drop-off fee.

At the moment, drivers pay £5 for 10 minutes waiting time opposite the terminal building, but the charge will rise to £6 from March 5.

A 10-minute stop at the Drop and Go car park at Bristol Airport will rise from £6 to £7 on March 3.

What have the airports said about the rising fees?

A spokesperson for Liverpool John Lennon Airport said: “The charges to this car park have remained unchanged for over two years and remain in line with those at many UK airports.

“The airport is currently investing heavily in new and improved passenger facilities and is facing rising operational costs following the plans to increase national insurance and the minimum wage which are being applied to all businesses and we’re doing all we can to minimise the impact of these increased costs for passengers.”

Bristol Airport said: “Increased costs associated with the rise in the National Insurance rate for employers has informed the Airport’s decision to increase the charges for Drop & Go. The increased price also helps discourage longer stays in an area with limited spaces, while also encouraging the use of more sustainable forms of transport to the Airport, including public transport.”
